The Paul Masson wine brand is best remembered for its 1970s marketing association with Orson Welles, who promised for Masson:

“We will sell no wine before its time.”

The thinking of course is that wine is said to increase its strength and flavor, and its mildness and mellowness, by age, and therefore the old wines are preferable to the new.  Not being a wine connoisseur, I probably should have consulted my good friend, sommelier Terricinia St. Clair (don’t you love her name?) before undertaking this article.  I mean, who knows?  New wines may have a fierce following all their own.

But it’s the CONCEPT that counts!!!  It counters the argument that “if I was ever going to do it, I’d have done it by now” that has hindered some of my coaching clients from pursuing their BIG DREAM.

“It’s too late.”

“I’m too old.”

“I should have done it a long time ago.”

“I had my chance and I muffed it.”

“I missed the boat.”

And yet, somewhere down deep inside themselves they know they were meant for something bigger in this world and no matter how many times they push that feeling down, back it comes — bouncing to the surface like a beach ball in a swimming pool.

Am I talking to you?

If this feeling has been building inside of you, instead of pushing it down — again! – consider that maybe it’s not “too late.”  Maybe it’s time to do something about it.

You are not an accident.  Every single jot and tittle of your existence, the dreams, the discouragements, the detours, have all been preparing you for the destiny you are here to fulfill.

Perhaps, as spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle has told us “You are here to enable the divine purpose of the universe to unfold. That is how important you are!”

And perhaps, like a very fine wine, you have been held in reserve by the Master Wine Maker because your particular piece of the Divine Plan could not have been put into place before this very moment in time.
