STOP THINKING – KEEP WRITING
As many of you already know I finally wrote my first blog post. I truly appreciate all of you who took time to read it and make a comment. Your enthusiastic response was more encouraging to me than you probably know. You see, writing doesn’t come easy to me. My mind refuses to co-operate. It either goes in a million directions at once or it goes completely blank. Then I remember a squillion other things I need to do at that precise moment in time that absolutely have to be done right then and nobody can do them but me. In short, I RESIST.
Resistance and I have been playing this game for a long time now and so I’m wise to all the tricks up his sleeve including this one: The very thing that I am resisting the most is the ONE thing that would propel me fastest toward my greatest dream.
Would you like to have your own personal secret of success? Ask yourself “What is the one thing that I am resisting right now?” Then do that thing.
“Everything you want is out there waiting for you to ask. Everything you want also wants you. But you have to TAKE ACTION to get it.” ~ Jack Canfield
One simple action can create the momentum you need to create the change you want.
The moment you make the decision that “This is IT! I’m doing it” things will begin to happen that seem like magic. Synchronicities begin to occur, ideas abound, doors open, opportunities are presented exactly when you need them and the right people appear in your path. Many of you may have experienced this already.
It’s not magic. It’s YOU…. But it’s just the beginning.
Then we have to do our part. We have to take action on the new ideas otherwise they just clutter up our brains and bog us down. We have to walk through those doors. We have jump on the opportunities that present themselves. And we have to recognize the people who are sent to help us facilitate our dreams.
In other words, we have to DO SOMETHING. We have to take the first steps. They can even be baby steps.
And then “The Amazing Thing” happens. As we begin to move closer toward our dream, our dream moves closer to us. That’s a promise. It happens every… single …time. But the rule is we have to make the first move.
Sometimes we need a push, a nudge, a deadline, an inspiring goal to get us past our resistance and self doubt.
For me it’s a little self-made sign taped to the front of my computer screen. It simply says “STOP THINKING – KEEP WRITING” in big, bold black letters. Most of the time it’s enough.
It also matters to me to be able to encourage everyone I meet to “STOP THINKING – KEEP __________.” You fill in the blank. In what area of your life do you need a nudge to move forward?
What is the ONE THING you need to do today to become the person your heart whispers to you that you really are? DO THAT!
“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!” ~ Johann Wolfgang Goethe
